How to choose the suitable paper stock for your product

For the magazine , many people will think of it is luxury and elegant . According to our experience , we suggest to use the matte art paper or glossy art paper . matte art paper is without the shiny surface while glossy art paper is with shiny surface , and it looks more elegant than glossy art paper, and it can protect your eyes . The will be several paper stock for you choice . Like 80 gsm ,. 105 gsm 128 gsm , 157 gsm and 200 gsm and 250 gsm , these are the common paper stock , you can choose them up to your own budget and requirement .

For other hardcover book and offer cover book need to be color printed , we also suggest to use the glossy art paper or matte art paper .If for children book , then we suggest to use matte art paper , which is good for kids’ eyes.

In our company , planner and notebooks are popular for North America and UK .As we need to write something on , so it is necessary to choose the offset paper( wood free paper ), some client will call cream offset paper as ivory paper , in fact, they are the same material . Ivory paper will be a little expensive than white offset paper . So many clients will require the white offset paper . . For the planner , it is commonly to choose 100 -180 gsm offset paper , according to your requirement . But 100 gsm offset paper is thick enough for planner .

For note book , it often use for promotion or for gift , its inner pages mainly be B&W printing ,and some others will be colored printing . So we suggest to use 80 gsm -120 gsm offset paper .

For brochure and flyer , our clients will require to use 64 gsm , 80 gsm , 105 gsm , 128 gsm , 157 gsm glossy art paper . But 64 gsm glossy art paper will too think , if you have enough budget , we do not suggest to 64 gsm glossy art paper , it is too thin and easy to be broken . So if you care about the quality mostly , then we suggest to use 128 gsm glossy art paper , it is thick enough as for brochure and 157 for flyer .

As for fold box and paper bags , we offer use the one side glossy art paper , which is one side without coated and one side with coated . That side with coated will be the surface and the other side will be inside . According to the usage and size , we will use different paper stock for them .

If for fold box , we often use 300 -350 gsm one side glossy art paper, If you need the most favorable price , we suggest to use grey back paper , it is almost the same as one side glossy art paper . But its price will be better then grey back paper .

And for the paper bags , we will according to the usage ( whether it will pack something heavy or not ) and the size of the bags . If it is small , then it is suitable to use 190 - 210 gsm , if a little bigger , then it should use 210-250 gsm glossy art paper .
